Lightning Ridge Screen Printing first opened in a small building in Casitas Springs California. It was 1988 and Paul and Trish and their three children had moved from Brooklyn NY to the sun and promise of the West. Both had studied at the Art Students League and The School of Visual Arts. Trish worked in advertising as an Illustrator and Grahic Artist. She is a published childrens book illustrator and greeting card designer. Paul is an oil painter and print maker whose work was represented by two NY galleries and shown at the Brooklyn Museum.
After serving in Viet Nam, Paul drifted to Australia and worked an opal mine in northern New South Wales, at a place called Lightning Ridge. After five years traveling around Australia , Paul went to New Zealand and met Trish who was a school teacher. They were both members of the New Zealand Acdemy of Fine Arts and worked in different media. After five years they moved to Brooklyn, New York where their three children were born.
The business soon out grew it's original building and moved to Ventura where they were able to expand not only there screen printing, by the purchase of an automatic printer as well as a larger manual printer, but added a multi head embroidery machine and started doing there own digatizing rather than out sourceing it. The banner and sign making expanded with a vinyl plotter and vacumn table and much more room.
Lightning Ridge is customer oriented and will take on any size job. Jobs that are either too small or too large for others. Deadlines are important and they will work with you to have your finnished product in your hands when you need them. They have recently added their own line of designs.
